Woodson Accepted--October 2013

Woodson is a four-year boy who lives in Port-au-Prince.

I examined him for the first time almost two years ago. He has a very loud heart murmur and an echocardiogram showed that he has a hole in his heart that needs to be repaired.

Yesterday, Woodson was accepted for heart surgery by an excellent children’s medical center in the United States! I will meet with Woodson’s mother and father in an hour and explain to them what has to happen now to prepare him for the trip. We will bring both Woodson and his mother.

Today is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Thank you St. Francis and to all Haitian Hearts supporters.
