My name is Eddy.

I can’t read or write because I never went to school. But I hope YOU can read this.

I am 47 years old and lived in the Dominican Republic for 37 years until “a few months ago”. They threatened to kill me and my family with a machete if we didn’t leave.  So my wife and 19-year-old daughter and I walked a long ways and ended up here in this place (Park Cadot #2).

I farmed a plot of land in the Dominican for the owner of the land. I used a hoe and sickle. I grew corn, beans, and fruit. He did not pay me but we could eat and go to church on Sundays.

I am sad now and have nothing to do and nowhere to go.
