Judithe Has Heart Surgery--May 2015

Judithe

Judithe is a 25-year-old Haitian woman who works as a midwife in southern Haiti. Her mitral valve has not been functioning well for many years due to mitral valve prolapse. Judithe was in congestive heart failure and not able to breathe well. I originally posted on Judithe here.

However, Judithe was operated several weeks ago and is now out of the hospital and is with her host family. She is recovering very well. The skilled heart surgeon and his team were able to repair her mitral valve and did not need to replace the valve.

Haitian Hearts is deeply indebted to the surgeon, his entire team, and the excellent medical center which accepted Judithe.
