Yesterday afternoon, a young 18-year-old boy, cried out for help.
He was in one of then tents for several days and he said he needed help.
His name was Miradieu.
He had no family with him. No friends were with him either.
Miradieu translated from Creole to English means “God’s Image”.
Doctors and nurses rushed to help him and did all they could to stabilize him and make him comfortable.
His tissues were swollen with IV fluids that he had received for his severe cholera and he was very weak because his potassium was 1.3 (normal potassium levels are 3.5-5.5).
He would fling his left arm up trying to stay alive. But other than breathing, that is all I saw him do.
Miradieu died alone at 7:15 PM last night.
