Haiti: More from Dr. Carroll

I got an email from Dr. Carroll this afternoon; he's kindly allowed me to quote it and to use the photo he attached:

There is one CTC [cholera treatment centre] open in Cite Soleil.

I walked to the CTC yesterday. It is not far from the peds clinic....near the wharf of Port-au-Prince Bay.

They showed me their books.

From May through December, 2012 there were 1,263 admits for presumed cholera.

There were eight deaths total.

Most of the cases came from Soleil. Others from PAP. 

There were five babies and two adults hospitalized in the CTC yesterday.

They told me that more rain means more cholera.
