With the deluge of cholera patients coming to Hopital Albert Schweitzer’s Cholera Treatment Center each day, the Haitian staff of doctors and nurses is stretched thin.
Hopital Albert Schweitzer put out this request for pediatric help today:
“In the past several weeks, Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti has seen a major resurgence of cholera in our region. Our Haitian medical staff has been working around the clock, side by side with visiting doctors and nurses, to meet the need.
“Currently, the cholera epidemic is flooding our Cholera Treatment Center with patients, sometimes with as many as 100 new patients per day. Twenty-five percent of the cholera patients we receive are children. To deal with this influx, HAS is looking for volunteer pediatricians for the month of August.”

If you are a pediatrician, please strongly consider coming to Hopital Albert Schweitzer. The Haitian staff and patients here in the Artibonite Valley will welcome you.
