Haiti's Earthquake....Another Bad Day for Haitians--January 2010

Haiti experienced an epic earthquake yesterday--January 12, 2010. It seems that the epicenter was near Leogane which is south and west of Port au Prince.
In the next few weeks and months, Haiti's poverty and lack of functional infrastructure will take the lives of many Haitians that could have been saved after the earthquake yesterday. Man-made racism and injustice have put Haiti in a child-like, helpless position for the last 200 years.

Comments in 2021--
The Haitian earthquake turned out to be one of the worst natural (and unnatural) disasters in modern times.
I learned that earthquakes do not kill people---bad construction does.
Approximately 13 billion dollars was pledged to Haiti by the international community to help rebuild. Of course, much of this pledged money never got to Haiti or was not spent well.
