Kidnapping in Haiti---2020

Kidnapping
"Santa Claus is not coming this year. He is in our hands."

In 2020 Haiti has suffered many kidnappings. This is unfortunate for so many reasons.

Haiti was the kidnapping capital of the Western Hemisphere in 2006 and 2007. The FBI literally ran out of agents to investigate this crime back then.

A physical therapist and her father were kidnapped a couple of days ago in Port au Prince and their ransom is 5 million US dollars.

Haiti seems lawless to me in 2020. The Haitian people are upset with Haitian President Jovenel Moise for "allowing" this insecurity to exist.

"President Jovenel Moïse’s years in office have never been characterized by respect for the will of his people, protecting them from kidnappings, gang rapes and massacres. But the spectacular horror of recent kidnappings, the high-profile assassination of a constitutional lawyer, repeated police brutality against peaceful protesters, the publication of an avalanche of illegal presidential decrees, redacting a new constitution by unconstitutional means, and giving extrajudicial powers to a new intelligence agency are ignominious acts that signal his intent on creating an autocratic state."
